The internet is evil and tells me of things I do not want to know.
(Like one of my very favourite bands splitting up, drama inclusive, or my favourite comic book ending. And I can't even react fittingly, as I seem to have entered into emotional distance mode where painful endings are concerned.)
In contrast, the world outside the internet is sunny and has fantastic books I've been wanting to read for months, and now I finally have the time.
Forgive me if I don't read my flist for a few days and postpone my loudly heralded "entries with content" a bit longer.
*goes back to good books away from bad new media*
In other words: *takes refuge in escapist fantasy filth instead of seeking significant new information and coping with what she finds*
BAH.
[1]It would sound better if I put her name there, but I realized it could be a spoiler, and as I'm trying to convince everyone I know who hasn't read that book yet to read it, I'm leaving it out, but I'm too stubborn to change the subject line itself. BAH again.
